Ian Birks, CEO, AUSTRALIAN INFORMATION INDUSTRY ASSOCIATION
 |
Ian has been CEO of AIIA since July, 2008.
Prior to then, he had been a National Board Member of the AIIA, serving
in this capacity since 2004. As a Board Member Ian has been actively
involved in industry workforce and skills issues, working as an advisor
to the association’s initiatives in this area.
Early in 2008 Ian stepped down as the Managing Director of ASX-listed IT
research and advisory firm Ideas International after five years at
the helm and 15 prior years in senior roles building the company up
from its foundation. He remains a non-executive

director of Ideas International. Prior to
Ideas International, Ian worked in a number of senior roles for
Prime Computer of Australia.
Ian holds a BSc Tech (Hons) from the University of Manchester (UK) and
is a member of Australian Institute of Company Directors. He is married
with three daughters and is based in Sydney.

Nick
is Research Analyst at AMP Capital's Sustainable Share Fund -
Australia's largest sustainable investment fund, founded in 2000. Nick's
primary role is to undertake the environmental, social and governance
research of Australian listed companies, including the ICT sector, and
investigate the relationship between sustainability, corporate social
responsibility and financial performance. Nick regularly engages with
company CEOs and company stakeholders to explore the quality of ESG
performance.
Nick joined AMP Capital after more than 8 years experience in the
sustainability field, working as a consultant at the Institute for
Sustainable Futures in Sydney; as a policy/environment officer at the
Australian Government Department of Environment and Heritage; and as a
resource economist at the Scottish Agricultural College. Nick has
represented the Australian Government at an international multilateral
marine conservation treaty meeting, and he holds a Bachelor of Economics
and Master of Science in ecological economics. |
Elisa de Witt, Partner, DEACONS
 |
Elisa de Wit is a Partner in the Melbourne office of Deacons and heads
the Environment Group. She also leads the firm’s National Climate Change
group. Before joining Deacons at the beginning of 2006, Elisa spent 8
years practising in the United Kingdom, where she had experience
advising on the European Union Emissions Trading Scheme. Elisa has
extensive experience in advising on environmental and planning matters
to both the private and public sector, and has spoken at national and
international conferences on topics such as waste management,
contaminated land and climate change. |
Jesco d’Alquen, CEO, TRADESLOT PTY LTD

Jesco d’Alquen is the CEO of tradeslot Pty Ltd. Jesco has over 13 years
of experience in Executive in-house roles and consulting (Accenture,
Deloitte, General Motors, TRUenergy), delivering large scale strategy
and technology projects in Europe, the US and Australia. Jesco has been
the driving force behind tradeslot’s growth in the carbon space (e.g.
CarbonNavigator.com) and the success story of establishing Private
Electronic Markets in commodity trading from timber to grain and water.

recently been appointed to assist the Department of Climate Change in
the design and implementation of the Australian Emissions Trading

Alison O’Flynn, Principal Consultant, Fujitsu Consulting, FUJITSU
AUSTRALIA

Alison
established and leads the Sustainability Consulting practice for
Fujitsu Australia and New Zealand Limited, which assists
organisations to understand the risks and identify new business
opportunities in response to climate change. Alison work’s with
clients to develop the ‘Green Business Case’ and implement a range
of strategic initiatives supported by a roadmap of benefits.

Alison
has 20 years experience in a range of industries including; Transport,
Telecommunications, Technology and Government. Alison’s work experience
spans strategic planning through to implementation in Sustainability,
Corporate Social Responsibility, Marketing Logistics, Telecommunications
and IT. Alison has a Graduate Diploma in Technology Management and an
MBA. She is a Member of Australian Institute of Company Directors and a
Williamson Fellow.
Kerryn Schrank,
Senior Manager Sustainability & Climate Change Services, PwC

Kerryn is an environmental scientist and sustainability professional
with over 12 years work experience spanning private, government and NGO
sectors from local community to global multinationals.
Kerryn has recently returned to Australia to join
PricewaterhouseCoopers’ Sustainability and Climate Change services team;
having spent the past 4 years working for BP in the UK where she was
responsible for their global voluntary carbon offsetting activities.
|
Prior to this, Kerryn worked for BP Australia as the Commercial
Sustainability Manager, advising the Australia and New Zealand
leadership team on environmental sustainability issues and leading the
BP Global Choice program, under the Greenhouse Friendly certification
scheme.
Her other experience includes pioneering collaborative approaches to
large scale public education campaigns on waste minimisation with
EcoRecycle Victoria and managing one of Victoria’s first corporate
sponsored Landcare projects with Rio Tinto in the Wimmera Catchment –
Project Platypus.
Kerryn has a proven track record of innovating and facilitating change –
from initiating and developing policy and strategies through to
implementing actions and delivering quantifiable, measurable outcomes.
She has passion and tenacity for the cause but also an ability to
balance an organisations aspiration to be a 'force for good' within real
world commercial constraints.
Warren Donnelly, Solution Manager - Performance Management – SAS ANZ
I n
his role as Head of Sustainability Management, Warren is responsible for
leading the SASR for Sustainability Management initiative within
Australia and New Zealand and extending the customer base of the SAS
Performance Management portfolio of solutions, which are instrumental in
establishing a solid Performance Management (PM) environment.
Performance Management is the main area of
focus for Australia's top C level executives as continued pressure on
corporate governance and efficient and effective execution continues to
grow.
Since joining SAS, Warren has focused on
performance management engagements in government and enterprises and
worked with SAS US, focused on the new SASR for Sustainability
Management Solution. Warren works with an extensive range of
Departmental CFO's and Government Executives and Directors in support of
portfolio and budgetary delivery and alignment with ICT Strategy to
deliver successful SAS projects Having held CFO positions in a number of
high profile organisations, Warren has brought to SAS a wealth of
experience in customer service and project execution. In combination
with his knowledge of financial intelligence issues and solutions, he is
eminently qualified to collaborate with SAS customers' at the executive
level on introducing effective performance management practices and
solutions.
Prior to joining SAS, Warren spent
approximately seven years with Sun Microsystems Software Division and
five years with Compaq/Digital which involved reporting on corporate
performance.
Leading up to his roles within IT, Warren held
CFO or lead Financial roles of several global companies for the Asia
Pacific and ANZ regions.
Primarily, Warren's focus aligned with his
corporate financial and software implementation experience, enables him
to work with potential SAS customers at the C level to address the
business issue of "gaining actionable insights to their business
performance risks by effectively analysing data."
Warren holds a MBA degree focused on Marketing,
Business degrees with majors in accounting and economics, including
environmental and transport economics and is a Fellow Certified
Practising Accountant.
Paul Engelman,,PITCHER PARTNERS
 |
Paul joined the Business and Systems Consulting
division of Pitcher Partners in 1995. Since that time, Paul has
assisted many organisations in successfully navigating the
information systems lifecycle from strategy and review through
system selection, implementation and improvement. Paul has a strong
project management and commercial focus that is based on using
technology to provide specific business benefit.

Simon Taylor, Centre Manager for ICT, BOX HILL INSTITUTE

Simon Taylor is the Centre Manager for Information
and Communications Technology at Box Hill Institute,
a Technical and Further Education Institute
with 40,000 student enrolments and over 1,000 staff.
Simon has spent 23 years with the navy in a range of roles, his final
role being the Director of Training for his section. He has been at Box
Hill Institute in his current role for the past two years. The Centre
for ICT is diverse and has a range of programs from Advanced Diplomas to
a Degree in the disciplines of IT, Electronic Engineering, Computer
Systems Engineering and Telecommunications. The Centre has 50 fulltime
staff with 40 part time staff. |
Simon has a Bachelor of Science Degree, from Latrobe University, a
Graduate Diploma of Information Systems from the University of Canberra
and a Masters in Business Administration from Deakin University.
Gary is an Associate Director
within KPMG’s Sustainability Advisory Services team; a specialised
multi-disciplinary group that assists clients across a range of industry
sectors better understand, manage and publicly report across a range of
environmental, social and governance (ESG) risks and opportunities. He
has worked within many of Australia’s leading companies on
sustainability / climate change related engagements – and well as being
actively involved within the development of KPMG’s own climate change
response.
He has co-authored
various publications; including the 2006 Australia/New Zealand Carbon
Disclosure Project Report, a report on the Australian Environment
Industry, an international survey on Corporate Social Responsibility and
he is currently assisting the Group of 100 prepare a revised guide to
Sustainability Reporting. Gary has advised a number of industry
associations on climate change related matters and sit on the
Stakeholder Advisory Council to the Australian Plastics and Chemical
Industry Association.
